Project Aisha

Through Project Aisha, Ingress Health Partners is addressing the challenge of high maternal and newborn deaths in mixed health systems in Nigeria  by increasing the market share of safe skilled birthing options by

•Increasing the visibility and attractiveness of the competent qualified usually female Private Practice Nurse Midwife (PNM) through community mobilization and media promotion

•Minimizing the risks posed by unskilled providers in communities, training them to recognize red flags, refer promptly and eliminate dangerous practices

The Newborn Platform

Despite a preponderance of post-pandemic information portals, women of reproductive age suffer a dearth of access to reliable medical information- very few are dedicated to ensuring mothers have access to reliable timely information tailored to newborn and young infants. Further, there continue to be many missed opportunities for maternal health education as we do not have a systematic process for anticipatory guidance in Nigeria.

The Newborn Platform is IHP's intervention to significantly increase maternal access to reliable health information and support them through the vulnerable newborn and early infancy period.

It is a subscription-based, post-natal virtual anticipatory guidance service for the mothers of newborns till at least the end of the second year of life
